Outdoor tile
Porch, patio, and deck tile
Exterior-rated porcelain for covered porches, outdoor living spaces, and deck surfaces in Chattanooga, Cleveland, and the towns around them.
Outdoor tile has to handle rain, freeze-thaw, and foot traffic. We install outdoor-rated porcelain on porches, patios, and structurally sound decks so the surface drains, stays grippy, and does not pop through a Tennessee winter.
Covered front porches and screened rooms are the most common jobs: a tired wood or painted concrete floor replaced with porcelain that matches the interior entry. We also tile patio slabs and, when the framing and underlayment are right, overlay a deck with an exterior tile system instead of another round of paint.
Interior floor tile and outdoor porcelain can be specified as a pair so the house reads as one finish when you open the back door.
-
Covered porch tile
Front and side porches that need a durable, easy-to-clean surface that still looks like a finished entry — not leftover builder concrete.
-
Patio & outdoor living
Slabs for grilling areas, seating, and walk-out living rooms, with slope pitched away from the house.
-
Deck tile overlays
Exterior porcelain on a deck only when the structure, movement, and underlayment can support it. We will tell you if wood should stay wood.
-
Steps, landings & thresholds
Tiled treads and landings that meet the door threshold cleanly so you do not get a trip edge between porch and foyer.
-
Materials that belong outside
Frost-rated porcelain, textured finishes for wet days, and exterior-grade setting materials — not indoor tile used outdoors.
-
Prep before tile
Sound slab or underlayment, crack isolation where needed, and a pitch that moves water off the surface instead of pooling at the door.
Before we quote an outdoor job
A few things we need to see so the install lasts.
- Photos of the porch, patio, or deck — including edges, steps, and the door threshold
- Whether the space is covered, screened, or fully exposed
- Current surface: concrete, wood, existing tile, or composite
- Any standing water, bounce in the deck, or movement at the house connection
